What is a song guessing game?
You hear a short audio clue and identify its title. This is a listening game, not a singing test: you do not need a microphone, and no voice recording is uploaded.
Can you guess it in one second?
The first clue is the shortest and earns the most points. A wrong guess or a skip unlocks more of the same recording, starting at the same position. Replays do not reduce your score.
What is in the current music pack?
The current mixed pack contains 138 tracks featuring Taylor Swift, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, The Weeknd and Billie Eilish. Each track has clues of 1, 2, 4, 8 and 15 seconds.
How to play with friends
Create a public or private room for two to five players. Everyone marks themselves ready and the host starts. Each player receives the same track but can unlock hints independently. A multiplayer round lasts up to 45 seconds after the audio is ready. After five tracks, compare scores and rematch.
Solo rules and scoring
Quick Play is a three-track set. Daily has five tracks tied to the UTC date and the pack version. Your first daily attempt is saved for this browser. Scores are 100, 80, 60, 40 or 20 points, depending on the clue used; failing the last clue earns zero. Choice and title-search scores have separate leaderboards.
A few listening tips
Try headphones, check your media volume, and tap Play yourself if your phone blocks automatic audio. Focus on the rhythm or a distinctive opening sound before using another clue.
Song guessing FAQ
Where does the music come from?
The game uses Apple Music preview URLs from Apple’s US catalog. Your browser loads audio directly from Apple into temporary memory; we do not host copies of those recordings. Preview availability varies by track and region. After the answer is revealed, you can open the track on Apple Music. Song titles and recordings belong to their respective owners. Mimic Party is not affiliated with Apple or the featured artists.
Do I need to sing or grant microphone access?
No. Only audio playback is used in this mode.
What if the audio does not load?
Retry the clue. You can also pause the room for recovery; it becomes unranked so a technical problem is not counted as a wrong answer.
Can I rejoin after refreshing?
Yes. Reopen your room link in the same browser and tap Join. Keep cookies enabled so the game can recognize your player.
