How to play

Follow the yellow 4.5-second guide, record a green take, then compare both shapes on the same timeline.

    Watch the complete yellow target while the reference plays from left to right.

    Imitate

    After the count-in, follow the same timing while your real microphone shape fills the green track.

    Compare

    Both tracks remain aligned while the browser scores their shape, rhythm, pitch, energy, and duration.

Three ways to play solo

Just Play is four sounds with route choices. Safe gives a three-second countdown, Risk gives one second and 1.5× party points, and Focus gives four seconds to prepare. A bonus wheel appears after round two. Survival uses three lives and rising targets; a low score costs a life and moves to a fresh sound. Today’s Stage gives everyone four sounds selected by the UTC date.

Play with friends

Pass the Mic supports 2–5 people on one device. Or create an online room and send its invitation to friends on their own devices. Everyone checks the same four sounds and clicks Ready; the host starts. Each player gets one take per sound and 120 seconds to finish. Silence or a missed deadline scores zero. After each sound, anyone can advance the room. Compare your total out of 400, then optionally publish your own result to the separate multiplayer board. Online rooms share scores, not live voice chat.

What the score means

The yellow and green bars show volume over time. Scoring also compares relative melody, rhythm and attacks. Your natural vocal register and timbre are not graded. A quiet reference can play during the replay, but only your original microphone take is scored. Party points include route bonuses; the community board ranks raw round totals so bonuses do not distort the ranking.

Microphone tip

Use headphones and a quiet room. Copy the sound after the countdown. Solo and local games let you retry or skip unclear audio; skipping costs one life in Survival. Online rooms lock each completed take, so check your microphone before starting.
