A NOTE FROM OUR LITTLE STAGE

    Thanks for making some noise.

Thank you for playing and supporting Mimic Party! Help the party grow: invite your friends on X / Twitter, or share in a Discord community or another group where game recommendations are welcome.

Share → submit your post URL → manual review → unlock the Supporter outfit. The outfit is awarded only after approval, not when you click Share. Post responsibly and follow the community’s rules.

Coming later: extra-life bonuses for approved shares. Extra lives are not available yet; their rules will be announced before launch. Sharing does not change leaderboard scores.

How to host an online voice party

Choose a public room or a private invitation

Online rooms are for two to five players on separate devices. A public room appears in the lobby and can be joined without an invitation while it has space. A private room stays out of the lobby and uses a code or invitation link. Choose a made-up nickname and keep personal details out of the room title. A private link can be forwarded, so share it only with people you want to invite. Everyone needs a browser that can play the reference audio and record a short microphone take.

    Prepare before the host starts

Join the room, keep the tab visible and wait for the four reference sounds to load. Each player checks their own microphone and marks themselves ready. The host can start once the group is ready. Headphones help keep the reference out of the recording; a stable device and consistent microphone distance help more than shouting. Online rooms coordinate the game but do not include live voice chat. If friends want to talk, they can use a separate call while keeping the game audio clear.

    Play the same four references

Every device receives the same four-sound deck. Listen to the whole reference, follow the count-in and copy its rhythm, relative pitch and shape in your own range. A completed online take is locked for that round, unlike a solo quality retry. Silence can score zero. The round has a 120-second window so a slow player does not hold the room indefinitely. When everyone has submitted or the deadline has passed, the room can move through review to the next sound.

Understand the result before publishing it

Four rounds produce a total out of 400, with tied totals receiving the same rank. These are browser-calculated similarity scores for a casual party, and microphones and background noise can change the result. They are not a verified competition or a measure of singing ability. Publishing your own final result to the multiplayer board is optional and shares your nickname and numeric result. A solo board and a multiplayer board are separate; the room result does not automatically publish your recording or nickname to either board.

Public scores and private replays have different rules

Public rooms share readiness, round progress and scores without uploading players' voice recordings. A private room can offer an explicit Share this take action after scoring. That separate choice uploads a short WAV for temporary replay by room members; playback is never automatic. A shared take expires after five minutes or a round change and may disappear earlier. Use Remove or Leave before closing the tab if you want to end access immediately. Read Privacy before sharing, since a listener can record audio outside the site.

Recover or start a fresh party

A refresh in the same browser session can reconnect using the stored player token. Keep the invitation and return to the same room while it is active. Room state expires two hours after creation, so an old code cannot recover an expired party. If the lobby is empty, create a public room or send friends a new private invitation. If a microphone or audio file fails, use Help Center and describe the visible error to support. A voice recording or public posting of a private invitation is unnecessary for troubleshooting.
