An online singing game with friends, with room for one more round

There is a lovely moment in a party game when everyone has warmed up, someone has made a wonderfully unexpected noise, and nobody wants to stop. Unlimited gives that moment somewhere to go. Your next challenge is another short sound, another tiny performance, and another chance for a friend to steal the lead.

The idea is deliberately easy to pick up. You hear a reference, use your voice to copy it, and receive a score. You can sing, hum, or make your best attempt at a funny sound. A beautiful voice is optional; curiosity and a willingness to sound a little ridiculous go a long way.

Unlimited keeps the regular multiplayer game screen and scoring flow. The difference is what happens after the fourth result: instead of ending the party, your room loads another set of four sounds. Your total stays with you. There is no life counter and no fixed number of rounds to finish.

The quick version: free browser play, 2–5 friends on separate devices, one private invitation, the full multiplayer sound library, and a cumulative room leaderboard.

How to invite friends to your private Unlimited room

Your next party can start with a simple message to the people you already enjoy playing with. Open https://mimicparty.me/unlimited and follow these steps:

  1. Choose a nickname. Enter the name your friends will see in the room and on its scoreboard.
  2. Create a private room. Give your little stage a room name. Unlimited rooms are invitation only and do not appear in the public matching lobby.
  3. Copy the invitation. Use “Copy invitation” in the room and send that link to your friends. The room supports 2–5 players, including the host, each on their own device.
  4. Get everyone ready. Each browser loads the same four reference sounds. When the sound check is complete, each player taps “I’m ready.”
  5. Start the party. When everyone in your room is ready (2–5 players), the host chooses “Start Unlimited.” Allow microphone access when you begin your own take.
  6. Listen, mimic, compare, repeat. Complete the sound, see the room’s scores, and continue together. After four challenges, “Keep singing” takes you into another set with your points intact.

Headphones help keep the reference out of your microphone. Find a comfortable volume, leave yourself a little quiet space, and let the first round be a warm-up rather than a performance exam.

The same multiplayer stage you already know

If you have played ordinary Mimic Party multiplayer, the actual game view will feel familiar. Unlimited uses the same sound challenge, microphone stage, reference playback and result flow. You do not need to learn a different game just to stay for another set.

Each player hears the same assigned reference and makes their own take. A round allows up to 120 seconds to finish. The yellow waveform represents the reference and the green waveform represents your recording; the shapes help with timing, while your ears help with the melody. Your browser compares the performance and gives a casual score from 0 to 100.

The room shares numeric results. It does not broadcast everybody’s microphones at once, and Unlimited does not provide live voice chat or upload your takes. The waiting room and between-round results have text chat, so your crew can make plans, celebrate a surprising score, or request an encore without interrupting anyone’s turn.

All 68 sounds, from melodies to wonderfully silly noises

Unlimited now draws from the same complete 68-sound catalog as ordinary multiplayer. It is a cheerful mix of melody hooks, short vocal excerpts, funny reactions, animal calls and sound effects. That variety is part of the fun: the friend who loves a tune might be challenged next by a frog or a perfectly timed dramatic reaction.

Each set contains four different references chosen at random. The next set avoids the previous four, giving your group a fresh little challenge as the party rolls on. You do not manually choose a song or a regional playlist inside the room.

The library includes our four licensed World vocals excerpts in Hindi, Portuguese, German and Arabic. You can preview them, read the credits, and explore the game’s sound worlds in the sound library. These are short voice-imitation references, rather than a full-song karaoke service or a catalog of commercial chart recordings.

It is a wonderfully forgiving format for a mixed group. One round rewards a careful ear; another rewards commitment to a gloriously strange sound. Nobody has to arrive with a memorized songbook to join the fun.

Keep your points. Keep the friendly rivalry going.

Your Unlimited leaderboard belongs to the people in your room. It shows each player’s scores for the current four-sound set alongside their cumulative total. A new set clears space for new round scores, while the total keeps growing.

For example, four takes worth 80 points each give you 320 points. Earn another 320 across the next four sounds and your total becomes 640. You can lead early, lose the lead, and win it back later. Players with equal totals share a rank.

These are casual, browser-calculated results for your private party. Unlimited totals stay on the room’s leaderboard and are separate from ordinary four-round public scores. A missed round earns zero, so keep an eye on the timer and give your friends a moment to finish before moving on.

For an especially fun evening, invent a tiny house challenge: the most dramatic imitation, the bravest first attempt, or the most unexpected comeback. These are ideas for your group to enjoy in chat; the game itself keeps the same numeric scoring rules.

A few things to know before your first encore

Do we have to be good singers?

No. Listen for the pattern, rhythm and shape of the reference. You can sing the pattern higher or lower; the point is copying a sound, not judging your voice identity. A quiet practice round in Solo play is a lovely way to get comfortable.

Can we keep the same room all evening?

There is no fixed round limit. Active room visits keep the room open; it expires after two hours without an authenticated room visit. Keep using the room while you play, and create a fresh invitation if an old room has expired.

What if the host leaves?

The remaining players can continue with their points. Another active player becomes host. Use “Leave room” when you are done; closing a tab does not immediately mark its player as having left.

Can we upload our own songs?

Song uploads are not available yet. Tell us whether you want them, suggest songs and languages, and report anything that feels awkward in the always-open player survey. Your feedback helps us choose what to build and research next.

What if we want a shorter game?

Choose ordinary four-round online multiplayer for a clear finish, or Pass the Mic when 2–5 friends want to take turns around one device.

Invite your friends. Your next encore is waiting.

The nicest thing about an online singing game with friends is not a perfect result. It is hearing a tiny reference and knowing that somebody in your group is about to interpret it in a completely unexpected way. Mimic Party Unlimited gives those moments a little more room.

Bring the friend who loves to sing, the one who only hums, and the one who insists they will somehow win every frog round. Pick your nicknames, meet backstage, and let the first four sounds be the beginning.

A message you can copy: “One more round? Come play Mimic Party Unlimited with me: https://mimicparty.me/unlimited. I’ll send you our private room invitation.”
